๐Ÿ”’ Privacy

The Tailgate is a free football pick'em league among friends. We collect the minimum needed to run it, and we don't do anything else with it. Here's the whole story, in plain English.

What we collect

  • Your name and email, so your commissioner can invite you and the site can send you pick reminders, weekly recaps, and password resets. Nothing promotional, ever.
  • Your password, stored hashed. We couldn't read it if we wanted to.
  • Your picks, points, badges, and comments, because that's the game.
  • Your favorite teams, if you choose to share them. They're optional and kept private.
  • Donation records, if you chip in for the domain: the amount and which player gave. Card details go straight to Stripe and never touch our server.

What we don't do

  • No ads, no analytics, no tracking pixels, no third-party trackers of any kind.
  • No selling, renting, or sharing your information with anyone.
  • No cookies beyond the single session cookie that keeps you logged in, scoped to your league's own subdomain.

Who can see what

  • Other players see your alias, not your real name, unless you flip the reveal toggle in the Locker Room yourself.
  • Your commissioner sees real names and emails for invitations and player management, but never which alias belongs to which name. Even the commissioner plays blind.
  • Each league is isolated. Players in one tailgate can't see another tailgate's players, picks, or anything else.
  • The server operator (the person hosting the site) has database access to keep things running, and is bound by everything on this page.

Your data, your call

Want a copy of your data, or want out entirely? Tell your commissioner. Removing your account deletes your name, email, and identity from the league. It's a friendly game; nobody's data is held hostage.

The fine print that isn't fine print

  • The Tailgate is for players 13 and older.
  • If this page ever changes, the changes show up here. With a site this simple, don't expect drama.
  • Last updated August 2026.
